New Chair Needed For Back Pain

So this time last year I purchased a DXRacer as I needed a new chair.

I do have back pain from time to time which was not caused by the chair.

Now I'm looking into selling this and buying a chair as I am suffering with back pain more frequently as I don't feel the chair supports my spine as much as I would like.

Any Suggestions out there for a comfy chair that is intended for long use that will support the back?

Cheers

I've suffered with that myself in the past, and it's only through seeing an expert you can begin to address the root cause.

Yeah I have seen the higher powers about my back pain before, Originally I think it was related to a work incident 10 years ago and a car accident 2 years ago seemed to set it off again and with heavy lifting at work thats not helped it.

Instead of spending money you could take time to do stretches and exercises to strengthen your core and lower back.

You are absolutely right to emphasise the need to strengthen the core and lower back though, which I am quite vigilant about... everyone should do this anyway, especially as we age lol!

Yep I'm very aware of this. Although another chair with the additional support might help in my recovery.

As we know the back has a very long healing process.

But I have a new mattress, leaving work in less than 4 weeks which help a great deal.

I think with the right chair it might settle down even more so. I have had the chair upright with the lumber support for the past couple of days and it seems to be helping, but I need to get the angle just right.

It's well out of your budget but my Herman Miller Embody is wonderful. You could always ask Tsunami Axis (UK importers) if they have an ex-display model going cheap.

Bloody Hell,

I would expect a fresh brew in the morning waiting for me at that price.

For that price I would buy an ASUS ROG UltraWide and Suffer :D

As others in this thread have mentioned get a refurbished Steelcase Leap. They are about £150 off eBay and the one I got looks brand new.

Proper ergonomic chairs and just about everything is adjustable.

Will consider one for sure.

All I want is my Volvo S60 chair at my PC... Wait a minute :D:D:D

Just did some more reading and my Seating position could contribute.

I was lead to believe that slouching actually made things worse. So I have been making an effort to sit more upright. However just discovered that its actually recommended.

Will see how this helps over the next month and report back :-)

Depends on your back dude, i read that report when it came out, and adjusted my chair to suit, my back started to get a little stiffer then cut to one month later i was stuck in bed unable to move my back had pretty much seized up, took months of not sitting in the PC chair to sort it out. Everyones back is different, but sitting upright is certainly better for mine.

I know what ya mean about having a car seat at your PC, i almost gave in and bought a lazyboy type seat when my back was at its worst.
Very true,

So far slouching back is feeling great, however now my forearms are resting on the edge of the desk :(.

Just ordered the Glorious PC Gamer Race G-HXL Mouse mat but going to get the XXL one when its in stock to see if that helps with the edge of the desk :D
