Right gonna try to run with this :

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5000+ 2.60GHz (Socket AM2) - Retail
Asrock ALiveXFire-eSATA2 (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Gigabyte SUPERB 460w PSU

Samsung TS-H492C/LEAH Black Combo DVD-ROM/CD±RW IDE (Black) - OEM

Would i need anythin else to get the computer going?

You dont need anything else except a HDD, which you have. Being USB should not be a problem aslong as you select USB as your main device in bios prior to installing windows, or it will not be detected.

Also regarding the PCI-E power connector, this is what you need http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp... 4-Pin Power Adaptor for PCI-E Graphics Cards Some GFX cards come with them but being OEM its not worth banking on!

Ok good luck and you have a good spec for the money there. Have you built a system before? If you have any troubles just ask on here someone will help.

Yeah make sure you upload pics, a little build log would be nice aswell :)

Word to the wise, these forums don't like leet or text speak so type out full words and they won't get starred :)

Can't manage to get a system under £200 here. I'd say what you have will do fine for your needs. How much does it come to in the end?

not build one myself, but one of my friends build his rig himself. pretty sweet rig at that. dual moniters n that. so i'll give him a shout n have him bribed with a bottle of vodka lol. but if i do need help this will be the first place i call =D

Yeah I am really getting tempted by one of those 2900GT's myself to upgrade my 6600 lol.

Hope they are still around first working business day in January and I will be snapping one up, pending the concerns over their power usage - reading reviews at the moment, they need 400W power supply, OP is okay but I am not!

Above build is £199.23 with free delivery, excluding any O/S though

Hey Fenton, had a closer look at the 2900GT, the graphics card requires 1x PCI-E 8 Pin Power connector not the 6pin I previously mentioned. Your PSU comes with 1x 6pin connector as standard, so you need a 6+2-pin PCI-E (1x 8pin adaptor?) or Saphhire website seems to think you can get away with 2x 4Pin adaptors, so that would require you to buy 2 of those adaptors I linked you to and plug them in side-by-side. Phew gets confusing lol.

No sorry ignore what I said above thats a 6-pin connector! Im getting confused now :(

Basically the 2900GT requires a 8-pin PCI-E power connector, the PSU you have only comes with a 6-pin connector, so you need an adaptor. However I cant see what sort you need being sold on OCUK.

You may well get one supplied with the Graphics but like I said being OEM best not to bank on it. Has anyone here got one of these 2900GT's from OCUK and can you confirm what is bundled with it?

Nah its alrite because I am after a few parts myself. Spoke to someone in the graphics card section who has a 2900GT, he said they run fine on just a 6-pin connector, so no adaptors needed anymore - just go straight from the psu. Good luck with your system
