I got my new case today and had hoped to post it in the new case section with pics of my attempts at cable routing.

Alas, I must be unlucky for two reasons. Firstly I received what I assume is a rare manufacturing defect. The HDD cage isn't actually fitted properly and the case is so solid that I cannot fix the problem myself. RMA time :(

Secondly, I didn't spot this problem until after I had stripped my old case, installed the PSU and motherboard and started routing the cables.

I thought I was doing a pretty good job of hiding the cables. The only one that was a real pain was the ATX power cable, as the socket is near the CPU and back plate on the P5 SE2.

I have sent a webnote about returning it but unfortunately I didn't get near it until after OC had closed for the day. I can't be bothered rebuilding using the old case so I will have make do with a laptop until this is resolved.

It is a very nice case. I am impressed with the overall quality and believe this is an unusual lapse in manufacturing standards.

Hopefully OCuk can get me sorted out with a replacement quickly and I can get my system built up again. :)

It is a very good case. You must have been very unluckt to get a duff one. I am chuffed to bits with mine and i rate it higher then the Lian Li PC-P50B that i have my main rig in. The Lian Li cost more than twice as much too!!

Yeah, tell me about it. I have sent OCuk a photo of the problem. Just waiting to hear back now.

I ended up rebuilding in my old case just so I could use my system again. I had put my recently replaced PSU in the old one, so I just put everything else back in there with it and didn't bother with any real cable management. Only took 25 mins including putting fresh MX-3 on the processor.

Update: OCuk have booked DPD to collect the case from me on Thursday and then will get a replacement out after they have checked it. Not ideal and a rather disappointing experience but at least it isn't anything that stops me using my system.

Sounds like a weird fault, although funnily enough I've seen modded Storm Scouts with the bottom HDD cage removed to help aid airflow, and the HDD were just mounted in the upper bays with an adapter.

Also just to add I have this case myself, was pretty impressed with the build quality but space can still be a little tight compared to similar priced cases. Cable routing isn't too bad either, may require a few trial and error fittings of components to get the optimal routes though. :D

EDIT ABOVE: Found a pic of the HDD cage removed.

I bought a storm scout from CM not long ago. It was fine except i didnt get the tool to screw in the stand-offs on the back plate, Pair of pliers did the trick although scracted the back plate a bit

SouthEastBlue - Wow that is a tidy case. I can see the point of removing the HDD cage but I don't think I would want to mess around with the case while under warranty, Although I have begun considered modding the window panel after seeing you can buy replacements from CM for 20 euros (not sure about postage though).

Razorback09 - I didn't even spot the tool until after I fitted the stand-offs :D but I found they went in fine by hand.

Struggled to get mine in by hand, two of them where fine but the rest wouldn't budge. All in all though its a great case and would highly recommend it.

I must have been lucky with the holes on mine, shame about the other bit :p

OC have dropped the price by another £5 on T.W.O compared to the deal price I paid last week.

I received the replacement case today (thank you OCuk) from a DPD driver who was suffering from déjà vu :).

I have given it a good inspection and I am happy to say it is perfect. I am going to hold off from re-building my system in it until tomorrow, as I want to see what offers are on before I order a new CPU cooler and graphics card (that will be my christmas present so I will have to wait to install that).

I was thinking of getting either the Viper or Fenrir Evo but the picture above is making me think about the H-50 now, although that would eat into my graphics budget.
