Recently replaced the CMOS battery on a VERY old (Rock) Clevo M57U but it still won't remember the time (although it remembers all other BIOS settings).
If the machine has been off for a while, when turned on the digital display will read some impossible time (like 53:48), and when booted into windows the time and date is wrong. After it has been synced with internet time however, the time and date will remain correct (and the digital display will now read the correct time) until the laptop loses power (is switched off).
As stated before, replacing the CMOS battery did not fix this problem. Are there any other factors that may cause the laptop to lose track of time?
