This if for a friend who just bought a router so he can download overnight as when before his dad goes to bed he is disconected because his dads computer is where his net connection came from.
So he got today a sweex r0001 router (no modem in)
Now he is playing about with port forwarding for emule and p2p stuff. But i told him to read up on how to set a router up properly as if he doesnt he might be screwed.
He seems to think he knows what he is doing but with comments like ill use pc firewall instead of routers one, then it seems he doesnt as i think most would say use the firewall on the router as its a hardware router and not software router like u have on pcs. Also he isnt bothered about firewalls much and i think he should be as i dont want him getting attacked via the router etc.
So any guides and what to do and what not to do etc would be helpful i think.
