New comp help

I recently built my own pc and installed the new 8880 GTS.I'm trying to connect it to my HDTV but when he switches the computer on he gets no signal...only TV...
I have the G+B+Y wires in the correct places so any troubleshooting tipswould be helpful

I dont get it. You mean you turn it on and the HDTV works but the monitor doesnt??? And I'm not sure what you mean by G B Y wires. Its not something I'm familiar with, I've googled it and cant find anything, are you sure thats what its called

i turn my computer on, the monitor is on but it is not display anything at all from the comp.....meaning no signal. the gby wires are the blue green and red wires that are coming from a my graphics card into my tv.

I also have never heard of GBY, sounds like Component (blue green and red). Have seen them be refered to as Y, Pb, Pr too - sure it said it on my old DVD player manual.
