Finally for my delievery date for my new car which arrives next monday. I have gone for the following:

Car
118D SE

Colour
Space Grey

wheels
Double spoke style 16" alloys

Upgrades
- Cruise Control ;
- Comfort Pack ;
- USB Interface;
- BMW professional radio;
- 677 Hi-fi loudspeaker system - LOGiC7 Professional
- Sports seats ;
- No model inscription; and
- Black anthracite pearlpoint cloth/leather trim.

It will be a lot easier and cheaper to run than my current car (warrior). I'll post some pics up when it arrives. I know there is a lot of debate and opinions on here about diesel V petrol. company car V cash etc. but I made my choice and i'm happy with it.

Can someone please explain how my car appears upside down in the reflection in the back of the 1 series, and no other car on the planet? It makes me question the integrity of the space time continuum every time I see it :cry:

Decent enough car, won't set your world on fire but will do its job well.

Company Car vs Cash. - Cash only really makes sense if you already have a suitable car which is available for business use, or if you have a sufficiently large car allowance £££ (after tax) to lease something really good. circa £400pm upwards after tax.

You also have to consider ongoing running costs, insurance, tyres, future values if you do a PCP / lease on your own. Taking a company car + cc tax is still the best way unless you get obscene CC allowances and mileage rates like a couple of people on here which allows them to run something above average.

The only company cars available in my company are the 1.6 TDCI Focus or 2.0 TDCI Mondeo as they have an embargo on buying new ones due to the economic climate and after the massive redundancies they have a pool of fleet cars they are paying for so I takes the cash.

we always debadged our BMWs. unless you've got a V8 or a V10, not really worth showing off ;)

and any anorak will be able to tell what engine it's got from the colour of the kidney grilles and the amount of exhausts anyway :p

not sure it all comes out my pay cheque, I just pay the tax, hassale free driving.

Did you have the option to take the cash alternative? I can take £455 a month cash or a company car worth around £23k (it varies a bit between models) on a 4 year lease. Given those options (inc. tax liability on car) taking the cash is a no-brainer for me. I'm more than happy to drive my 5 year old Fabia VRS and spend the extra cash on something more useful instead.

Because the rear end is so concave that it flips your reflection upside down, I've noticed that. I pulled up behind a 120D and I thought I had rolled it :p

I could have taken the cash, but I have no car and do not fancy getting a car on finance.

Sorry mate, you know me. I have the exact same car sat on my drive at the moment as a courtesy car and its the biggest POS. There are much better cars for the money. Their fuel economy is the only thing going for them but even that is questionable. My commute today for instance is an eclectic mix of A road and Motorway. Combined, I got 54.5mpg. My 530d gets 46.5mpg on the same route. And Efficient Dynamics makes you look like a retard who can't drive because it cuts the engine at every junction although you can turn it off.

Plus, £330 a month? I'm paying £322 for a 530d M Sport which was a year old.

Still I'm sure you'll enjoy it, but its just not worth the money.
