Hi this.. i just got this spec,

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ X2
2GB Dual Channel Ram
Radeon X1300 Series

I got this pc but it doesnt seem very powerfull..

My last specs were;

AMD Athlon 3000+
512 mb ram
Radeon 9600 SE!!!

Well i play COD multiplayer a lot and my FPS on my old system was around 90...

But on this new system i can get up to around 240 fps stable but normally just around 150 fps on all low graphics...

Is this normal? or doesnt COD2 use both cores of the processor?

Im not very good with computers incase u havnt noticed :P

Thanks

Sam

No i didnt do a fresh install... i did install some drivers for the CPU but it seems like something is wrong... its driving me crazy... its not even just in games... the computer just doesnt seem to peform as well as i thought it would... going from the pc i had to this pc isnt much differant 30% increase is all i see to be honest.

And about dual core not being effective in games... i think that is because only some games support dual core at the moment... and the rest just use one core :'(

EDIT: So maybe a new graphics card is in order? any suggestions also... ill probably buy second hand... maybe i should think about overclocking also?

Mine looks like the second 1, So you guys think its best to get a new graphics card? i dont have a budget for a graphics card.. i just basically cant get 1 untill i get paid :P

Is there any chance that a GPU as powerfull as a X1950Pro will be bottlenecked by my CPU?

Thanks for the replys guys,

Sam.

Maybe i need to get a good CPU fan then and try overclocking my CPU a little (Never overclocked before).

Im scared

Haha i hope i dont blow anything if i do decide to overclock.

I dont want to overclock much anyway, just enough to notice a nice speed increase.
