Basically ive been talked into going to a lan event and im not wanting to take my current pc with me on a train as its big and out dated and ive got a monitor etc to carry so ive decided to part with some hard earned cash and build a small form pc to take i already have a thermaltake lan box and i just need recomendations from people who know about building small form pcs about what motherboards and processors i should go for ive already decided im going to go for 4gb of ram just need help picking the motherboard and processor and graphics card i have a maximum of £450 to spend on the components look forward to hearing your recomendations cheers

I've got a Q6600, Asus P5QL-EM, 4 gig of ram, a ATI4670 along with 2 1TB harddrives in a SG03 powered by a 400W psu. I think you'd get all of that in a LANBox quite easily :)

I take mine to LANs often, infact I'm off to Epic.Lan next weekend. It's nice and easy to transport and copes with everything I throw at it on decent-full settings at 1920x1200 (although I confess I've not tried Crysis on this card yet :P)

cheers for the advice im thinking along the lines of this DFI Lan Party JR P45-T2RS Intel P45 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard with Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.80GHz (1066FSB) - Retail and 4gb of ocz or corsair ram then an ati card which ive got £130 for might go over but dont think i will need to and im not sure what will fit will need to check dimensions since ive been told a lot of cards wont fit

that DFI board you've chosen is nice, but you might do better spending money on a HD4870 instead. And I'm sure you're not going to need Pinks 2TB :D - well it depends how much P0rn you're nicking at the LAN I guess....
