New computer is setup! Is everything running ok..?

Hi Guys,

I've finally got it built.. Just to check everything is running ok..

Running @ stock atm till i can afford a new GFX card..

One thing I need to know is when at post.. The ram shows as PC3-1066. If i go into the BIOS (Asus P6TD Deluxe) and hover over DRAM Frequency, to the right I get a message saying: For 'Locked' CPU only DDR3-800 and DDR3-1066 is allowed? wtf?

Also, is there anything else I should test apart from the CPU temp? Running an i7 920, 6Gb OCZ Reaper 1600Mhz, and 160GB Intel 34nm SSD..?

EDIT:

Also, I downloaded and installed the latest Marvell Yukon SATA controller driver from the Asus website for my motherboard. Shoud I have done this if im using an Intel SSD ?

prime 95

Could you run a prime95 test for around 20mins. This would give a high load temp. the maximum heat should be around 76C. Prime95 will also cause the computer to crash if there is anything wrong in particular. i would also suggest doing a gpu stress test as these can point out and graphic issues.

looks good at the moment though!

If i do a CPU test in 3d mark 2006 the animation is very poor and jerking.. i scored 1.6 fps on CPU 1 and 2.4 fps on CPU 2..

I am using a 7900GT in my new i7 system. Any ideas why Its so low?

LOL the CPU test on 3d mark is always slow as it doent use the grpahics card to render anything. 1.6 and 2.4 fps is within the rage that you should be getting. Someone with an i7 will be able to give you more precise numbers.

Yep, 1.6-2.4 fps is what youd expect on an i7 in the cpu tests.

Spent £1200 on just a system.. so cant afford GFX yet..

- Also waiting for a DX11 nvid to come out..
