New Computer + iTunes Problem

Dunno if I'm posting in the right place here...but anyway here goes-

Does anyone know the best way to transfer my iTunes on one computer to another. I don't want to plug my iPod into the new computer as it will just delete all of the songs iirc. I need the iTunes on the new computer to have all the songs which are on my iPod.

Do you mean transfer the songs or the iTunes library (thus retaining play counts and other library info)

Don't you just need to copy all the tunes in the folder that contains them? At least for stuff you have copied from your own CDs etc. Don't know with any music bought from iTunes - look at web site? there is a specific forum there
(www.apple.com).

(That's what i did with my Daughter's new laptop / ipod). If the ipod has tunes it should "populate" the new folder?

Yeah it's just music ripped from CD's, so I should just put the folder on a CD to transfer them?
