New computer - single Memtest86+ error?

Hi all,

I recently received a new custom-build laptop and as one of the first things I decided to test it out, make sure all was working etc. To this end I started a run of Memtest86+ v4.20, watched it for about 30 mins then went off and left it till the next day.

On my return I found a single error had occurred in 9 hours of running (6 passes). What does this mean? Should I investigate further? I'm used to either finding nothing at all or more rarely having loads of errors. I'm a little stumped by one.

Any advice welcome!

if everything is functioning correctly you shouldn't get any errors at all.

so there will be something wrong somewhere. Althou as its only a single error it might never really show up as a problem. If it was an old computer i would probably live with it, but not really for a new build.

You could try repeating the test and see if you consistently get that one error

I think error occuring within 3 passes are the most significant?
