CPU Cooler

I'd get a Gigabyte DS3 or an Asus P5B. Also if you're buying an OEM CPU you'll need a heatsink/fan. I'd recommend the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.
The spec looks very good otherwise.

He might not be able to go with a 965 based board if the 2x120GB drives he has are IDE.

Otherwise yes the previous reply had everything you'd need to consider in.

Right, might as well ignore me then. I re-read that post several times and didn't spot the CPU cooler bit at the bottom! :p

My other recommendation of the DS3 still stands though. :)

i dont think the DS3 does do crossfire or sli

but clicky
does

what do you lot think about that mobo

and an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro instead of the Nvidia 7900GS

Definately get the X1950 Pro

DS4 *DOESNT* do xfire/sli - It's a common mistake - the second PCI-E is actually x4 not x16! :(

 How can it support xfire when one PCI-E is only 4x?

Oooh... Hang on I'm probably misunderstanding:
"2 x PCI Express X16 slot(run @ x16, x4)"

Must mean that they can run at x16 and x4, not that they do run at x16 and x4...

/feels stupid

Ignore me :D Hehe

yep the get the 1950 pro his on special this weak cracking card at £129 and better than the 7900gs.

as for the mobo its a great mobo thats why i have it :D lol easy to overclock on and stable. the only issue is if you hjave lots of extra pci cards. cause it only has 1 extra slot, and that can be blocked if you have 2 gfx cards and t hey are dual slot cooling ones wich most are these days. i dont have any pci cards so not an issue for me
