New Computer to Replace my 27" Apple iMac

Hey everyone,

So I am now at the stage of being fed up with Apple and their crap - they create beautifully aesthetic computers with high ticket prices as we already know but currently they are annoying me with their latest OSX being a failure and their iPhone 4 problems e.t.c

I've decided to build a Hackintosh instead and dual boot windows 7 and OSX Snow Leopard.

I have a budget of about 1,500 for the complete system which would include monitor.

I am looking for a system which is fast to load, fast to browse the Internet, capable of playing current games and future games, mainly FPS/RPG games, using Adobe creative suite and general web design.

I purchased the iMac because I love the finish and more importantly the quality of image - therefore I am seeking an as good as alternative when it comes to screen quality.

As for system performance I am looking for an i7 spec, 16GB ram, decent VGA and lastly, the case - after having the iMac so long I don't want to take up my limited space with a humongous tower (I live in Central London, space is pricey!) so as for the case I need something with a relatively good flow through of Air as well as space for a demon spec but not too bulky.

I was looking at the Corsair 600T but not sure how big that actually is.

Anyways, any help would be hugely appreciated it's been a while since I looked in to computer specs and everyone knows if you don't keep up with the PC industry you will get left behind.

Lastly, any of those who love converting Apple fans in to PC hard fans go for it!

Thanks!

Thanks guys.

Yeah I was looking at the Dell Ultrasharp, real nice monitor...otherwise the Hazro looks good too!

As for the spec, looks pretty decent but I think the case is quite big no?

In regards to the iMac, I think I just want a change to be honest, well that and the fact they really made Lion OSX to be the worst OSX in the history of Apple.

I mean seriously, fine they realise the OS system on the iPhone is awesome and everyone loves it but you can't go adding those types of features on a 27" iMac just doesn't feel right or work right.

The launch pad is a crappy feature, so is the mission control - they missed the point that the previous tiled system worked far better and far more effectively. Oh and the biggest part of all is I never ever, ever had a problem with my iMac before moving to Lion, now I turn my computer off to reboot back in to Lion from Windows and it comes up with a loading bar and then never loads...ridiculous I left it for 10 hours and it didn't load.

So, I restart again and try to re-install and it won't because all the hardrives are locked wtf? So I try repair and it says I cant...so I try backup from a previous saved backup and it won't...what a load of crap. They made an OS nearly as horrible as Vista was, fail Apple!

That's whats annoyed me, the OSX Lion and it's crap!

Otherwise, I love the iMac although I do get bored of the 'limited' upgrading functionality, I do like a change from now and then!
