New computer won't pick up GPU

It's a **B Grade** Sapphire HD 7750 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Whether I use the DVI adaptor or HDMI out nothing displays on the screen, leaving me using the motherboards built in output.

I've checked in bios and there seems to be nothing in there to enable it. The fan powers on for about a second when I first turn the computer on but then it stops.

After doing some digging around it seems I need a 6 pin PCI-e thing in my motherboard? Is this correct?

No, not 'in your motherboard'. You will need a 6 pin PCI-e power connector running from your PSU to the gfx card. Have you plugged this in?

There is nowhere to plug it in as far as I'm aware.. I've examined the card and can't see anything :/

After checking, and checking, and checking again, along with getting my brother to check, there is absolutely no where for anything to plug into this card in terms of power supply...it only has 3 outputs "DVI/DP/HD" and they're all outside the computer anyway

I read something about disabling my onboard graphics adaptor, is it worth me finding a guide on how to or is the gpu screwed?
 
No offense but your obviously not looking properly. Every GPU has a 6/8 pin bit on the corner closest to the front of the case when plugged in to take the PSU connector.

No they don't. Low power cards get all their power from the pci-e slot on the mobo. The 7750 is one of these cards and does'nt need extra power.

Rubbish! Not every GPU needs the extra power so doesn't have a 6/8-pin connector. A reference Radeon 7750 doesn't have one either (it's a 55W card).

Are you able to test it with another PC? If it's a 'B' grade item then it might have been returned by another customer for the same reason... OCUK do test them, but maybe it's a bit picky with certain boards or chipsets :confused:. Also, are you using all 24-pins on the motherboard power connector? Some boards still boot up using 20-pins (it's a 20+4-pin block)... Make sure both the 20-pin and 4-pin parts are connected to the motherboard ;).
