New computer won't pick up GPU

Rubbish! Not every GPU needs the extra power so doesn't have a 6/8-pin connector. A reference Radeon 7750 doesn't have one either (it's a 55W card).

Yep I'm using all 24 pins, you're prob right about the B grade thing, I had no idea that's what it meant. Looks like I'll be returning it. Thanks!

Please think before typing. Low power cards (less than 75w if i remember right) get all their power form the motherboards pci-e socket.

try re-seat the card. Or change to another PCIE slot.

I tried, it's been in and out multiple times. There is only one PCIe slot on the motherboard

Soo...decent GPU for £50-£70? Anyone? I gots a new computer and I cant even use it :'(

I'm just a bit iffy though, it states in the returns policy that unless an item is faulty they won't refund.

So another question, going by the specs I posted (above) is the card I currently own compatible with it? I assume it is but I just have to ask before risking wasting some postage money...

A PCI-E slot can provide upto 75W of power :rolleyes:

Let's just hope your actual PCI-E slot is not to blame (closely inspect it for any damaged/bent or misaligned pins). I would still keep an eye out for a cheap 7750/7770 as they're not bad for the price. Maybe even a GTX 650

It shouldn't be, the motherboard was brand new! I'll check tomorrow anyway. Too knackered right now
