hey guys, i asked for your advice the last time i built a computer and it has performed admirably. However the time has come for a change and i once again turn to you, the gurus of Ocuk to offer advice and suggestions, so without further ado, here goes:

-Asus P5E Deluxe Intel X48 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
-Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
-Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x2GB) Supplied with Airflow Fan (TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF)
-BFG GeForce 9800 GTX H²OC "WaterCooled" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
-Tagan TG900-U88 900w BZ-Series Modular PSU
- 2x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
-Thermaltake VA7000BWA Shark Aluminium Full Tower - Black
-Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Series 7.1 Sound Card - Retail

and now my proposed cooling:
-Swiftech Laing D5 Vario MCP655 12 VDC Pump
-DangerDen RBX Block (LGA775 Processors)
-Thermochill PA120.2 120mm Double Radiator
-XSPC Single Bay Reservoir - Black

that is what i am currently planning, i have all the peripherals i need so thus more money gets to be spent on the base unit...YAY.

The bit i know the least about is the water cooling system and i would especially like advice about that, so feel free to give better cooling setups than what i currently propose, and indeed feel free to criticize my general proposed system

Regards Mippie

I guess everyone will tell you there is no point in the 9800GTX, the main reason being that an 8800 GTS 512MB will offer similar performance, and finally the new cards are coming out soonish.

I don't know much about the watercooling so I won't try and advise directly other than to say unless you are either aiming for near silence or fairly hefty overclocking then air cooling will probably be sufficient but a lot cheaper.

Do you really need an X48 based motherboard? The system does look good and is all compatible, I'm just checking that you aren't simply spending money where it won't benefit you much.

well, its going to be a gaming computer primarily so i would guess that the x48 would be needed unless of course you could come up with a better solution?
