Akasa Rounded Ultra ATA133/100/66 IDE Cable (0.45m) - Metal Braided £4.99 1 £4.99
Get rid of the untidy IDE cable to the optical drive using this.

Titan Vanessa-L TTC-NK25TB/SC (RB) Heatpipe Cooling Fan (462/478/754/939/940/LGA775) £19.99 1 £19.99
Great reviews and the fan is 120mm so can be replaced with a quieter papst one if required.

Akasa AK-P050FG8-BKUK 500W Green Power 80+ £57.99 1 £57.99
Single 120mm fan for quietness and excellent efficiency for lower running cost (it's on most of the time!). I also think better efficiency should mean lower fan rpm as less is lost to heat - but this is unproven!

So should be quick and quiet. :D

Thanks for all your various help on my threads to work out this spec.

Merry Xmas

What speed of delivery from OcUK! Ordered Friday at 1pm, it was packed and shipped an hour later and arrived Saturday at 9:30am. Top service!

Sadly the DS4 is faulty, so I'm RMAing it today. Will let you know what happens.

Doh! It appears I had tested the same (faulty) stick of memory twice. With a single stick installed, it boots, with the other or both it doesn't. The tech had a bit of a chuckle at that. Talk about a blond moment! ;)

Just waiting on an RMA for the memory and then we're in business. I can't wait, when I saw the bios screen I had butterflies in my stomach! :D

Yep. OcUK confirmed today that one stick is duff. They have sent a replacement which should arrive tomorrow. It's a happy Xmas for me. :D

Full report once it's up and working.

Enjoy it, get a decent batch of that memory back and that DS3 and E6300 will clock lovely. Got mine @ 2.8ghz on stock volts with the same mobo and ram.
