Seriously looking at going from my X2 3800 setup (@2.6Ghz) to a conroe 6600 system...possibly purchasing by tomorow. Looked through the threads here and think I would see a fair boost in performnace if I can get over 3Ghz with the conroe.

What Im looking at is the combination of CPU, Mobo, RAM and CPU cooler. My options I can see best are

Mobo

Gigabyte DS3
Gigabyte DS4
Asus P5W DH Deluxe WIFI
Abit AW9D-Max

RAM

Geil 2Gb PC2 6400C4 Ultra Low Latency
GSkill 2Gb PK PC2 Cas4
Gskill 2Gb HZ 6400 Cas4

Cooler

Scythe Ninja
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower

My first choice of combination was the 6600 CPU, Scythe Ninja, Asus P5W DH Del WIFI and GSkill HZ Ram. However not entirely sure what to go for.

There may be an issue installing the Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B on the Asus motherboard due to its design...can anyone verify this is correct? (This will probably be getting built inside an Antec 900 gaming case)

Also...is it worth paying the additional 20-30£ for the GSkill HZ over the other two types of RAM I am considering.

Can anyone help sugest the best combination.

Thanks for the assistance!

before I order...can anyone verify that the 'Scythe Ninja Plus Rev B' will fit on the Asus P5W DH Deluxe WIFI motherboard without any issues:D

I have the P5W DH and a Scythe Ninja Plus, and there were no issues fitting it.

I'm running an E6600 with it, currently @ 3Ghz (333x9) although when I have the time I'm going to push for 3.6Ghz(400x9), with the Geil 2Gb PC2 6400C4 RAM.

Seems to be running just fine, not had a problem yet.

So, I'd recommend those components.

As to G.Skill HZ over the other two, it's unlikely you will see much of an improvement in my opinion.
