New console for me?

I've been offered a PS3 from a good friend for £100, with MGS4 and it's practically brand new as all he did was play through this game and then never really use it again...

Bargain or can you get these around this price anyway?

I think the PS3 is still around #300 at the moment, so I'd say it's a bargain

try pick up killzone2 aswell, very satisfying game

Definately an awesome deal, Would recommend you play previous metal gear games before diving into number 4.

Nah, I'd say just play MGS4 first then if you like that, play the other 3. You have to play the 2nd one atleast 2-3 times to really get a grasp on the story. The first one plays like a movie but the 2nd one just gets insanely complicated, 3rd is easy enough to understand too.

Yeah, well £100 for 40gb PS3 and GT5 Prolouge, he decided to keep MGS4 in case a 5th version came out and he wanted to play them again.

It's a cool console, but I find it drops the connection to the PSN an awful lot! Good thing is that it's a great deal quieter than my Xbox 360!

Is there much else I can do with it other than play PS3 and PS1 games?

I use it to stream all of my media, I have been using my 360 to do that, but got a ps3 the other day from my father and it's even quieter. Saying that, my xbox was near silent anyway.
