New contract at work

I have just been offered a new contract at work and I am happy with everything except one term. The statement on the contract is:

Your gross pay will be £xxxxx per annum plus National Insurance contributions

What does the National insurance contributions bit mean?

I was originally self employed as a consultant working for the company if that helps.

I assume that is the employers NI contributions?
