Hi all,

I've just swapped out my Coolermaster Hyper TX CPU cooler for a Gelid Tranquillo with some MX3 paste and wondered if my temps were about right....

Before the swap Core Temp had my temps at around 45 degrees while idle and now I'm getting this:

I realise this is while idle and running some stress tests will show the real temps but since this is my first solo attempt at applying the thermal paste, I just wanted to know I'm in the right ball park for my CPU at stock before I start overclocking!

Thanks guys......

Also, just run Prime 95 for about 10 minutes and got the following:

Again, I know its only 10 minues but do the high temps look OK??

Cheers,

StevieP

Those temps look fine mate, dont worry, its not until you get over 70 you need to start being concerned, and 80 for actually worrying, maxing out at 47 is v good

Thanks for the replies guys! :D

Quick update though, I've done a full reinstall and I've been installing programs and drivers and stuff and this is what CoreTemp is telling me now:

Obviously a bit of a jump - should I be worried do you think??

*edit* - btw - some of the reason for the jump is I'm overclocking my CPU to 2.7GHz (and was gonna aim for 3.0GHz+)

Hi again....

I think I'm getting a bit paranoid about temps! :D

Here is core temp whilst running Orthos for about 8 minutes - can anyone tell me if I should be worried about the temps?

Thanks........

Temps still look ok, but you will need to run two instances of Orthos to fully load the cpu.

Temps are still fine, like said earlier your fine up until 70c.

Also best to stick to using 1 stress program for temp testing, that way its the same each time, prime is probably the best bet for that.
