Have an ageing AMD FX 6350 with a stock Wraith cooler. It's now getting noisy can someone please suggest a better cooler to fit....simple replacement only?
Thank you

Thanks for your suggestion and I'm sorry for delay.
PC problems are delaying things but will be back soon...I hope!

Late PS. Ordered

Trying to install my new cooler as mentioned.
It's an AMD board,
After releasing the lever and the two clips it simply won't move.
Concerned about using too much pressure.
Have watched You Tube videos for initial guidance and I believe I have done it correctly.
Any help Please is it really 'stuck' that well?

When you say it won't move, how do you mean? Is the thermal paste dried up and 'welded' between the CPU and heatsink? Run a heavy load like RealBench or Prime95 for 20 mins and get it good and hot, and then try again. Don't pull up on the heatsink, gently twist and wiggle.

Result:
Heated it up and tried a few times to release for an hour or more .....after yet another attempt it did release but with the CPU still attached!
Tried to release the CPU from the cooler....heated it with a hair drier...I didn't realise they got that hot!........no action at all.
Finally after seeing a couple of YT comments the Stanley knife appeared.
Spent another hour or so ensuring that the blade did not mark the CPU too much then a last lever action prised it off. The cooler flew across the room. the CPU gently sat on my table and the Stanley knife sliced a large piece off my left thumb.
After quenching the blood I then managed to replace the CPU and spent another 15 minutes finally attaching the cooler which was quite difficult as one clip was nearly inaccessible.
All, apart from my thumb, is operating perfectly.

Thank you both for your kind help.

PS. The layer of paste on both items was thinner than a coat of very thin paint and neither surface was completely covered.
