New cooler for Q6600 and what paste?

I have a rubbish stock cooler with my Q6600 so i want to replace it with a new one and should i buy some thermal paste while i am at it??

As cheap as possible please i will overclock the processor in the future....

Cheaper and gives better performance

as for the cooler, the thermalright ultra 120 extreme and tuniq tower appear to be the weapons of choice.

Agreed, I got some of this for my recent Q6600 system and it works a treat.

With regards to a purhasing a new cooler I recommend you have a look at the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme or Tuniq Tower 120 very respected coolers.

For actual results on Q6600 and these named coolers view here W3BBO quadcore database all entries in database minimum 8hrs stable on small fft's
