New cooler or use bolt-thru-kit?

All, looking for a bit of advice.

I have a new G0 Q6600 that I've oc'd to 3GHz (333x9) and am using a coolermaster hyper tx 2 hsf on it. So far, idle temps sit in the low 40's and a prime95 4 core test takes it to high 70's. These temps seem high, I think?

I'm not convinced that the plastic push pins are giving as good a fit as they did originally (I have had to remove the hsf and re-fit as the q6600 was an upgrade from an e2220) so have done some research on these forums and elsewhere and it seems the Thermalright Bolt-Thru-Kit could be the answer, or should I get a new hsf/cooler?

quick note - temps are high 40's whilst I type this.

Any advice much appreciated.

Quick Q. - Did you set the voltage manually or did you leave it on auto?

The cooler is not the best in the world - but should certainly do the job at 3GHz.

Haven't changed the pcie clock to my knowledge. Left the ram at auto speed (but with voltage manually set to 2.1) so cpu-z says it's at 416.2MHz 4:5 ratio and 5:6:6:18 timings.

Would these things affect my cpu temps?

I'm using a coolermaster hyper tx 2 and cores 1/2 were hotter than 3/4 when I first installed the q6600 so I took it off cleaned it, reapplied paste (AS 5) and refitted it. Now core's 1/4 are hotter than 2/3!

All my equipment, voltages and settings are the same as when I had my e2220 oc'd to 3GHz (250x12) and that would idle in the high 20's.

All the above is why I'm thinking that I either need a new cooler or better fitment for my existing one by using something like the bolt-thru-kit.
