This is what my machine looked like before.

First of all I changed the ATI stock cooler for an Accelero X2, then I replaced the 80mm cooling fan at the front of the case with a 120mm Akasa Amber fan.
I moved all the hard drives from the bottom to the top 3 bays and moved the dvdr to the fourth. The hard drives are inside a thermaltake iCage which has a 120mm fan on the front of it.

ok now before and after temps. This is at idle after being booted for about an hour. RED = Before BLUE = After
CPU 35C 29C
Mobo 39C 32C
GFX Core 51C 39C
GFX Mem 55C 42C
GFX Ambient 59C 55C
WD 250GB Sata2 44C 29C
WD 250GB Sata2 49C 31C
WD 160GB Pata 38C 22C

Running Orthos (dual core prime) before used to make my CPU fluctuate between 50C & 51C now it rides between 43C and 45C. I havn't touched the artic cooler at all, all that's down to the increased airflow through the case.
Just had a quick game of oblivion with all the eye candy on. With the stock ATI cooler and the fan set to 3000RPM the GPU used to touch 80C now with the Accelero X2 at 1000RPM, max I saw was 60C!! and I couldn't even hear the fan. I just used the overclocker tool to change the fan speed from 1000rpm to 2000RPM and I didn't hear a change at all! Just tried Oblivion again, same part of a level, and GPU Core didn't go above 50C with the X2 at full speed.
Just a note to say my GPU core is at stock speed, but Memory is increased from 750 to 800MHz hence the higher mem temps.
What can I say, i'm really pleased with the results, if you have the stock ATI cooler, get an Accelero X2!!!

Added : I used speedfan and Everest for most of my temps, Core Temp for the CPU temps, and ATI Tray Tools for the in-game temps. Oh and I also got rid of all those nasty grey IDE cables and replaced them with blue Akasa IDE cables, much more compact. I think a lot of the temps have came down due to having 2 120mm fans on the front of the case rather than 1 80mm which was just taking in cool air, blowing it over the hard drives turning it hot before it got to my CPU and other components. Now i reckon the hot air is being kept to the top of the case, where the PSU fan and rear 120mm fan is much more able to cope, and the nice cool air from the bottom 120mm fan is able to blow over the motherboard and artic cooler without being heated by hard drives on its way.
Comments welcome!

Nice work, well thought through and it did the job nicely :)

Good to see another Accelero X2 user happy, I've been recommending them for a while because of their bargain price, but having never actually used one its always good to know they're upto scratch :)
