If your wondering what the final prices will be for the new fsb 1333 Core 2 Duo's do a google search for the "Core 2 Duo E6750", a few UK etailers are already listing that CPU at £130 - £134, that represents a hefty £40+ markup from the quoted Intel price of $183 US. Now I'm wondering how much the UK markup will be on the Quad Q6600 come July 22nd.

The prices will fall into place with the quoted price drops on the 22nd July.

The new 1333mhz chips will only have a couple of weeks at their initial prices before they drop.

Intel prices are for trade suppliers in 1000 quantity batches and exclude tax. Also we never get a direct exchange rate change from US to UK. Most the time you can get a guide by just changing the figure $ to £, which makes it a pretty good price really.

That's a load of trash, we pay no where near the direct $ to £ conversion, look on what is one of the cheapest US websites Newegg.com and they are listing the Core 2 Duo E6600 fir $222.90 (£116 + TAX), it's only £140 inc. VAT here.

Those prices are around about right for the E6750

The E6420 is priced at $183 per CPU in a 1000 CPU batch now which is what the E6750 is going to be.

A E6420 from OcUK is £123.36 inc VAT.

$183 ~ £92.xx exc VAT

Adding VAT @ 17.5% on to that = ~£110. Then you add the possibility of a shipping costs (if thats not included, im not sure if it is) and an extra bit of cash the retailer wants and you get up to around £130.

I think when the first price drops came the price of a E6400 (what is was back then before the E6420 moved in) was around
£135 is my memory serves me right, the price has been slowely coming down since then.

So the E6750 will probabilly be around £135 when it first comes.

Thats what i think any way you dont have to agree with me. :p

still a little inflated i think, but dont expect them to drop by MUCH!

but personally for me its going to be a e6850, if these chips OC like they are at ex systems forum then 3.8-4.0ghz on air should be possible on lowish volts.

Man all this is so tempting, ive not long bought an e2160 which is at 2.62gig. If these new chips are much better and going to be this cheap.........

I think im going to have to lock my credit card away and give my mom the key
