Hi there guys I wonder how you test stability on haswell cpu (I7 4770k) as with my first oc attempt I got 4.2ghz at 1.14v with temps of 70 on hottest core after 3 runs of asus real bench. I also tried occt linpack and my temps on hotest core are 87. Can you advise me on overclock ?

Real bench and your normal tasks are probably the best. The former being much more realistic for temps than prime or ibt.

They're all hot runners, your temps under linpack are much better than what I get. 95c at stock. Hence my recommendation of real bench. Stuff like ibt, linpack or p95 with AVX instructions sends temps sky high. But real bench at 4.7 on 1.300 results in a max of 81c.

Doesn't matter what cooler you have. Its a problem with the way the chips are designed. Instead of the integrated heat spreader being soldered to the CPU die, Intel use thermal paste and this leaves a gap between the die and the ihs. This leads to poor heat transfer.

The thing is that to get 4.4 I need 1.21v and my temps under real bench are 89 on hotes core and I'm unabe to run occt linpack as I get blue screen. Also if I increase cpu input voltage would it help with overclock ? If I go from 1.79 to 1.85-1.9v? Also about cache is it worth overclocking?

I wouldn't bother with the cache, concentrate on cpu core first. Your input voltage should be 0.5 higher than vcore, ie in my case 1.300 vcore = 1.800 on input.

Mine is still on auto which is around 1.8v. Is there anything I can do to decrease temps except trying to drop voltage on cpu core? Also in power phase control should i change any think (I got msi z87gd65) ?
