So i'm looking for a new CPU to replace my Q6600 and while i'm at it the motherboard and RAM. Here's my current spec.

Q6600 OC'd at 3.2 (OC'd by overclockers)
Abit IX38 QuadGT
4GB Corsair CM2X1024-8500C5D DDR2 1066 (4x1gb)
ATI Radeon HD 4800 series
Crucial m4 128BG SSD
Seagate 500GB HDD

And a few other things (it was a system built by overclockers).I'm only replacing the CPU motherboard and RAM though.

I do play games on it but haven't for quite a while.

What bundle would you recommend? I don't really have a budget but don't want to spend silly amount of money. Just want something that's going to be fairly snappy for a few years. Also thinking about having 8GB RAM too.

Though i could sell the Q6600 with the motherboard and RAM as a OC'd bundle, maybe get £60.

Thanks for the info.

With the Haswell coming and other future CPUs, will they use different socket and therefore require different motherboards? Or do we not know this yet?
