New CPU Cooler

Hi

I'm going to be changing my case/psu and think I will take the oppurtunity to change my cpu cooler as it is about knackered to be honest and not giving me great temps at the moment.

My current setup is a socket 939 AMD however I am looking for something I will be able to use for a new build in the future (Probably LGA775).

My motherboard is an Abit KN8 (see below) with the Northbridge relatively close to the CPU. My new case will be an Akasa 62 Eclipse so shouldn't have any trouble fitting most things.

Budget is between £20 and £30... Although I don't mind paying extra for something quality. It should ideally run quiet when idling with a bit of noise being ok at full load.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.

I have see the Tuniq but am slightly worried about whether it will fit or not. I'm sure the case won't be a problem however the Northbridge cooler may get in the way.

Currently the Northbridge has a fan on it like the picture in my original post, however I was planning to put one of these on when I change case/psu.

Do you think this will get in the way of the Tuniq? I really need to change the fan on the motherboard as it is making that horrible noise that fans make when they are knackered.... All the replacement northbridge coolers tend to be passively cooled... I can't fiind a low profile one with a fan.

Any ideas?

Hi.
If you're worried that a Tuniq Tower will interfere with your current Northbridge cooler then fitting the Zalman cooler isn't going to help at all because of its overall size. My last motherboard was an ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe and I had to cut a chunk off the large
standard Northbridge heatsink to get an AC Freezer Pro to fit.

Current Northbridge needs replacing as the fan is almost dead... Only problem is that all replacement northbridge cooler tend to be passively cooled and therfore bigger than a simple heat sink fan.

I think if I replace it with this it will be ok. It's only 32mm in height so the Tuniq should tower over it.
