New CPU cooler

As some of you know im a bit of a noobie in custom builds and consequently i broke my CPU cooler "Legs" And now it wont fit into the motherboard.

So i would like to buy another one,I have the Asus P5Q pro and intel E8400.

Any advise would be nice

For mild overclocking you cant go wrong with the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro. If your gonna be maxing it out on air then I would recommend either the Thermalright TRUE Black 120 or the Noctua NH-U12P, both are very good coolers.

Oh and don't forget to check on the manufacturers website to see if they fit your board!

Thermalright TRUE Black 120 fits your bored and in many reviews is classed as top of the tree for air cooling and for £35 if you shop about seems a waste to go for anything else

I'm using a P5Q-WS board with Q6600 LGA775.

I'm well impressed with the Zalman copper cooler (see sig) , ok it's a right pig to fit, and do NOT screw the mounting bracket all the way down until you have clipped the cooler on the CPU else you won't get the clip over the notch as the CPU transister pots get in the way.

But You can see my OC in my sig, and my temps idle @ 28c and standard usage go up to 35c.

I had a tuniq tower, it was useless, used to idle @ 35c-40c and usage would go up to 60-65c.

Zalman has cut my temps in half!

Using a Xigmatek S1283 on the same board and cpu. Performs nearly as well as a TRUE but for cheaper if price is a factor.

Cheers guys think im going to go with Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro as its quite cheap and im not going to be overclocking until i learn about it a bit more first.

Good choice. I got this becuase i had already installed my motherboard and just couldnt be bothered to take it all apart again. I have my e6600 @ 3.4ghz and its sitting at 40-45c idle and never seen it hit higher than 58c load.
