Ok.. decided my Titan Amanda's TEC must be the reason my cpu temperatures have suddenly gone crazy. So.... time for a new CPU cooler.
Anyone able to recomend me a good one? Air based, as i cant be bothered to mess about with water cooling.
Price.. not really too bothered how much it costs, aslong as i'm not paying 70 quid for a cooler, that cools 1 or 2 degrees better than the 50 quid one.

Not in stock atm :(
Any other recomendations? I've got the stock cooler back in atm, and i'd prefer to get it back out asap lol

I can personally recommend the Noctua cooler. It did me well and was very happy with it. It's also very quiet.

The OCZ Vendetta 2 seems to perform very well so might be worth a look at that as well.

Ok.. gonna wait till one of the True Blacks get back in stock.
For a temporary measure, think a SilverStone Nitrogon NT03 would be ok?

Running q9550 with a Tuniq Tower here - Overclocked to 3.4 Temps running at 38c Idle +10/12c on FULL load. TT fan running at less than 1/2 speed so silent for all practical purposes.

Per the reviews I've read Not as good as True but somewhat cheaper and the temp difference is minimal. Have no hesitation in recommending PROVIDED it will fit your board and case.

I purchased the Coolmaster V8 as an alternative to the True 120 Black as it was out of stock and it cools very well. However, I can't compare it to the cooling of the True.

The V8 did knock about 10 degrees off (under load - not idle) over my previous cooler which was the Asus Silent Knight II.

Buy Thermalright Ultra-120A if you don't wanna wait. It shall be just a bit worse than Ultra. Are you gonna put any fan on it?

OK, managed to find somewhere with a true black in stock.. arriving tomorrow before 12 :)
cost a little more than here, but atleast i get it fast.
Picked up 2 x 120mm fans from work.
should cool nicely :)

i upgrade from a SL-128 to a Thermalright Ultra-120A with a YS-TECH FD1225 120mm Fan today, it was well worth it. it helped the load temp a lot, the idle temp is about the same..

Well the heatsink arrived today, but the fans i got from work were no good, couldnt get to the inside of the mounting holes to attach them to the heatsink. So got 2 new ones today which i'll put on tomorrow.
Running passive atm, and its already cooler than with the stock. 50c under load. :)
