New CPU: Do I need to reinstall windows

I am considering going from single core to dual core.

I don't want the hassle of reinstalling windows again and all my stuff back on the PC.

Can anyone confirm if I can just swap the CPU and power the pc back up or do I need to go the whole hog and reinstall?

No need to reinstall

No need for a reinstall. Just set your mobo's cpu settings to auto or clear the cmos and let your mobo detect the new cpu.
