Currently running a R5 7600 and a 4070Ti Super.

I was going to wait and see what the 50 series (5070 or 5080) brings when its announced, but after seeing what the 9800X3D can do, would I see more uplift from changing the cpu or the GPU?

What type of games do you play and at what resolution?

The 4070 Ti Super is pretty powerful so if you play less demanding games at a lower resolution (or games that love the X3D's cache) then I'd expect more of an uplift from the 9800X3D.

If you play demanding games at 4K, that'd be more tricky, though still hard to say when we don't know how powerful they are. I suspect the 5070 will hardly be an upgrade and the 5080 not much of one.

I mainly game at 4K on an OLED so as up to 120fps as possible, and it’s usually sp games with the odd Helldivers, Space Marine and a bit of mp, but nothing competitive.

If you haven't seen it already, you may find this interesting:
