New CPU time - AMD, help me decide

gaming intel is better. if you not on budget get intel. amd can compete in somethings at slightly cheaper but it is mostly behind in every game.

certain games its nearly double framerate behind in certain cpu intense game like skyrim , arma and so on. so if the games you mainly play are cpu intense 110 percent go intel.

before all the blaghards come in crowing i have personally sat at side tested them side by side with same gpus in ;)

The Core i5 3330 can only be overclocked a small amount,ie,from 3GHZ to 3.2GHZ and you would need a suitable motherboard too.

Stupid Intel naming conventions, I struggle to follow them

So do I want to be looking at an i5-2500 for overclocking?

If so that pushes it to around double the budget of my original thoughts of going AMD, which is where the price/performance argument starts to rear its' ugly head again.
