I did that the other day and the windows experience index showed DirectX 10 and yet dxdiag x64 showed DirectX 11. I presumed windows 7 has minor bugs still.Just re-run windows experience index.
Maybe goto the device manager and remove the old cpu, if it's still in there. No reinstall though...
Any excuse to have a nice fresh install is good imo, that nice freshly installed windows feeling cant be beat!
I find that feeling sours somewhat when Windows 7 suddenly declares that your CD Key has become undesirable.
I have to phone activate mine now, which feels a bit like Russian Roulette.
