I've just replaced the CPU in my rig and was wondering if most folks would bother to reinstall Windows (Vista 64 Ult) after a mod like that?

I've gone from a 965BE (125W) to a 1055T (95W) on an Asus M4A89GTD PRO board.

Cheers!

Maybe goto the device manager and remove the old cpu, if it's still in there. No reinstall though...

Agreeing with others, never re-installed with a new cpu.
Only thing to check is the BIOS rev on the board can take the new cpu.

Any excuse to have a nice fresh install is good imo :), that nice freshly installed windows feeling cant be beat!

I find that feeling sours somewhat when Windows 7 suddenly declares that your CD Key has become undesirable. :D

I have to phone activate mine now, which feels a bit like Russian Roulette.

There really isn't any need to reinstall the OS mate, just clear the CMOS, pop the new chip in and boot the system up.

To reinstall the OS would just be time wasted imo.

Also @ kedge, the reason your seeing WEI showing your card up as DX10 and DXDIAG shows DX11 is because Windows 7 comes with DX11 pre-installed, however if you've only got a DX10 card then it can't make any use of DX11 features.
