New CPU

Hi guys was just wondering if anyone here has an amd tri core? im looking at the beefiest one the 445, for just £60.

im buying one for a friends comp, thought it might be better than a dual core fore multi threading.

he also dables in games like COD so will it still be good for this? thks

oh yeah and he has an ageing 8600gt graphics card, is it even worth putting this into his new build?

im thinking of unloocking if i can to a 4 core - anyone done this with an asus m4a785td-v-evo? i dont see "turbo unlocker feauture" on the asus box!!

There is no guarantee of unlocking the extra core, though I have owned that motherboard and it does have the capability of attempting it.

Yep you can unlock the extra core with that motherboard.

Also if you're on a tight budget then the 445 is a good choice.

I'd get rid of that old graphics card too, if he can afford an upgrade then it'll be well worth it.
