New cpu :)

About to jump on one of these as well and pair it with a maximus v gene. X79 is overkill for my needs now and a complete power hog as well!

Looks good :) Howcomes the Retail (3 yrs warranty) is cheaper than the OEM (1 year Warranty) even when the OEM is on offer? Doesn't compute!

Yes been waiting for a good deal to pop up and missed out on the 2700k for £200.

This is cheapest I ever seen one and it should go nicely with the msi gd65 z77 I bought a few days ago.

Its my christmas present though so I go to wait a few weeks :)

Is this a pricing error of some type? I don't understand how the retail is cheaper than the OEM, nevertheless, its pushed me to order it, a D3H & 16GB TeamElite RAM :)

I'm wondering the same, I dithered too long on the i7-2700K @£200 and missed out. This is a cracking price especially with free delivery, but I really want a i7.... damn you OcUK.... must resist, must resist. :D

I'm pretty peeded off as I bought it last night for £173.99 and it was on this week only deal
The deal ends and the price drops by £24?

I'm currently using a 190T on a 990FX board, was going to go for an 8320/8350 but saw this last night and as my primary use is gaming I went for it at £149.99 with free delivery, incredible deal. Still not sure how much faster it would be than an equivalent AMD product but have heard it's better when it comes to gaming, which is my primary usage.

Now all I need to do is get myself a cheap(ish) Z77 motherboard with PCI-E 3.0 and sell my AMD products, as part of this is going to be an Xmas pressie I think the total cost to switch to Intel will of been £30.

What's stopping me returning the CPU I've bought for a refund and reordering another in the meantime? Would still save £20 after paying to send it back

I came home from the pub, drunk at 1:00am, had a quick look on the forums, and saw the i7 @£199.99 deal.

Best drunken purchase I have made! :D

It had gone up in the morning too.

Value for money RAM seems to be the TeamElite, but for top end you want Samsung Green?

Phantek coolers seem to get good reviews, along with the Noctuas & the Thermalright Silver Arrow (Trying to decide between the Silver Arrow & Phantek myself!)

afaik it should be, but the memory with the higher heatsinks can really hinder your cooler options.

Yes I have some kingston hyper x 888 right now and that has huge heatsinks on so I'm going to give that to my old pc and get something better and smaller for mine.

And the biggest heatsink for my cpu I can find lol :)

I quite like the look of dark rock pro 2 and the k2 mount doom but not sure if they would be the best thing for my 3570k
