Hi, does anyone know if Win 7\Win 8.1 (I run a dual os) will still run ok if I replace my 2500K with a Xeon 1230v2. I'm changing nothing else in the system.

Both OSs support that cpu so I don't forsee any issues

Only issues I can see are your mobo doesn't officially have support for it, the Xeon also only allows pcie xfire at x16 and x4 whereas your mobo runs x16 x16. So if it does indeed work with your mobo you might take a small hit with your crossfire setup.

Thanks for your response. My mobo has the latest bios and according to the msi support it does indeed support the xeon 1230v2, the xfire isn't a problem, my sig is out of date so no xfire anymore. My question was more aimed at what windows will do on first bootup, will I need to re-install or re-activate etc.
