Hi guys,

Firstly, I know there is a dedicated New Members section to this forum so I apologise if this is against any rules but I am only here for the folding section.

So moving on :D

I have recently started folding mainly because I have a server running 24/7 serving files and hosting a few game servers every now and then so I thought that it might as well be put to good use the rest of the time.

It's running Debian with a stock q6600 pushing out just over 6k ppd on average which I know isn't much, but it's better than nothing I guess. Unfortunately, it hasn't stopped there. I seem to have "caught the bug" fairly quickly so now my main machine is folding as much as possible as well (around 10-15 hours a day), getting about 20k ppd between the stock I5 760 and a gtx470. I am a bit of a Linux fanatic (albeit fairly new to it), so I spent the time getting my main machine folding on Linux which as many of you probably know, is a bit of a hassle with gpu's.

I am currently in my final year of a Network Engineering degree (along side a CCNA) and have decided to base my final year project around folding. I had something in mind along the lines of an automated deployment application (ie, for a class full of Linux machines), with a built in client management/monitoring system for the Linux console. I am aware that there is a similar program called Origami, but from what I have seen, its monitoring features are fairly weak.

I kinda got a bit carried away there so I do apologise :p

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you all, and to find some targets to try and stomp haha.

Josh.
