NEW Crysis 2 sp trailer

It's most likely going to a be a half decent game underneath, but people will be too butthurt by the graphics to appreciate that.

Also, they will say the exact opposite of what I just said. :D

Yeah, just seen that and posted a link to it in the crysis 2 minimum requirements thread.

Personally I think the graphics look excellent, plus if that is the consoles graphics/gameplay video, imagine what the PC graphics will look like then if it is a good port.

Either way I am happy with the way it looks and I think the gameplay looks great, just as long as it runs really well without any problems on the PC.

.

Im thinking its likely to be pc footage, looks too crisp to be on one of the consoles.

Anyone?

Will the PC multiplayer have dedicated servers? Because if it doesn't I ain't buying it then.

It's not been confirmed, but a few days ago I did get an Email from multi-play hinting about crysis news with more news in the next Email, if that helps.

Can't wait for this. Here's an old video from 2009 you may be interested in, with a talkthrough about the crysis 2 engine development (now obviously completed).

that has to be PC footage, after playing the xbox 360 version for the past week or so, theres not a chance in hell thats on the xbox 360, it looks terrible on the console! that is crisp, fast and the lighting is superb, non of which are on the 360, where everything is sluggish, jaggy, etc. and what is it with the dedicated servers thing? how can you say 'I won't buy the game if it doesn't have dedicated servers...?' it could be the best single player game for a while and your outright saying your not gonna get it if there are no dedicated servers? too much damned emphasis is put on multiplayer gaming these days, once you've played one FPS online you've played most of them, screw dedicated servers, what we want is fast, innovative gameplay that makes you feel like you are the character you are meant to be playing, screw generic multiplayer, give me well written, well executed single player that is immersive, atmospheric and challanging any single day of the week! ;)

Well firstly, you where playing the multiplayer demo, and generally for every game that has multiplayer the graphics are always toned down for the multiplayer e.g. BFBC 2 looks amazing for SP, but in multiplayer it looks crap compared to it. What you have played on the 360 should look better when you play the SP, obviously not as good the PC when maxed (if it is indeed footage of the PC/good port).

Well, I doubt it will be the best SP game ever, although you never know it could be, but I highly doubt it as nearly every FPS is the same now a days, however this will be slighly different since you have the suit and a better environment by the looks of things.

I don't know about you, but I don't really play SP non stop apart from the ones, which give you more choice as to how you can play it e.g. the first crysis, far cry etc. not your typical linear shooters now a days where there is only one way and path of doing the levels, and since this is developed with consoles more in mind, I highly doubt you will have as much room to roam around as what crysis give you etc.

From the gameplay videos that I have seen of the multiplayer, I think it looks great, a lot different than todays FPS online due to the nano suit and the way you can interact with the environment, plus it seems like it will be squad based, only problem being that you might get a few noobs who will just sit in a corner with cloak on all the time , plus BFBC 2 is very different to FPS onlines, so is COD series as well as half life, L4D, TF etc. etc. Obviously COD 4 and BF will be far better/popular than crysis 2 most likely, but I really like the look of it, haven't played a fast paced type of game like it for ages now.

Plus have you played MW2. It's awful, everyone hacks, laggy, can't kick, can't ban, can't do anything, pointless multiplayer on PC if you don't have dedicated servers. Everyone I know hates MW 2 for those reasons as well as a number of people on a number of forums, was a big problem, even the expert reviews say it is as well and hence why treyarch said in one of there game videos a sarcastic comment about the dedicated servers, infinity ward etc. same as dice with BFBC 2, cause they knew how stupid it was of infinity ward to not support dedi servers and why they did support it.

I should have worded my post better :o, if the SP does get excellent reviews, I will buy it, however if it costs anymore than £30 and doesn't support dedi then I won't be buying it as personally I don't want to be paying £30+ for a game, which will probably have about 6-8 hours worth of gameplay (as generally every game now a days seem to have that length) and the multiplayer being trash due to no dedi servers.

When there is multiplayer with the dedi servers, you can play for a lot longer than 20 hours (SP would last that until I got bored of repeating the same missions, where you don't have the same path to follow etc.)

However all could change once expert reviews come out, I may well buy it if the SP does turn out to be excellent and the gameplay length is longer than I expected.

It all comes down to personal preference in the end, people buy games solely for mutliplayer, some buy it solely for SP. I love both but the multiplayer has a lot more play time than SP if it's good. Been playing BFBC 2 multiplayer since it came out nearly every day, completed SP in 6-7 hours and haven't touched it since I completed it.
