This thread is relative to exactly what im experiencing with my current Xonar STX.
I have had for a while now numerous people on chat via team speak or gamevox for instance complain of buzzing/whirring/cow noises lol from my mic.
Now i have replaced the mic from a zalman to a mod mic in recent weeks and the issue is still present.
Today while playing some games i noticed this buzz/radio like interferance through my speakers and headphone. So i did some research and it seems this card suffers from this issue as reported by several people.

So the question is do i replace with another sound card or buy a Dac like the FULLA 2 ?

I mainly game so positional audio helps a lot, and i listen to music too. I have Senheiser HD598SE headphones.

All help welcomed :)

Budget ideally no more than £130

ok found this now -
Sennheiser GSX 1000 Gaming Audio Amplifier - Black/Red

over my budget but looks like it ticks all the boxes.....

@Marsman Thanks for that detailed post, much appreciated.

I am very tempted to get the GSX 1000 as primarily the pc is used for gaming, bf1, Zombies in spaceland, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Occasional Elite etc.

I have not long since purchased the headphones so will be keeping them for a decent stint going forward.

Tempted to test the onboard audio to see if it has interfereance just to see if i can say 100% its the STX, although the noise wasnt there when i initially bought the STX so maybe that says enough.

no i have had complaints about the mic issues for best part of say 8 months or so, so i maybe had my 980 TI back then as well.

Odd how it effects some and not others as no one else i speak to online has this issue, really starting to think it is the Xonar
