So yeah, after contemplating for ages I bought this today for £1800.

It's the 1.8 TDCI Ghia, and it's a very clean example and quite good to drive. :)

Went to see a similar year Mondeo that was a bit of a dog TBH.

That's me happy, hoping to see some decent MPG figures and I think I'll stick the Evo in the garage for a few weeks.

I had an '03' plate 5 Door Zetec TDCi 115 Focus back in the day (2003 to 2006).

I actually really enjoyed it, handling seemed good and the power was acceptable - I guess I was only 19 when I got it - and it put out over 130BHP in 'standard' form on dyno at Powerstation. The only mod was a K&N Air Filter.

I think you can just about squeeze 150 BHP out of them with Remap, ST170 Airbox, Snorkel, 2.0 Auto wind deflector.... etc. Its not worth it for a commuting hack.

I used to drive it like an ape and manage over 400 miles from a tank with ease. Should be a nice change from the Evo for MPGzzz

£1800 feels fair, how many miles/owners etc?

Not bad in my eyes. I guess it has the climate pack (air con, and then heated front screen, washer jets and wing mirrors) ?

All useful things on a car you will ultimately want to get you to work. Cold mornings are so much easier !

It doesn't have any blanking panels where buttons are I know that much. Seems to have aircon (which works), heated front and rear screens. Unsure of the mirrors.

Bloody thing cost me £600 to insure, I was expecting around £400. :( The Evo costs me £750 so no idea why it's so much, perhaps it's the lack of NCB on a second car, not sure. So it owes me around £2500 by the time I put tax on it. But it made me smile today when I used almost half a tank in the Evo pratting about to do 80 miles, kinda brought it home why I bought the Focus.

That is with the company that insure my Evo. I tried confused.com, gocompare, comparethemarket etc. All were over £700. :| I do have 6 points and a total loss on my licence, maybe that doesn't help with no NCB to use.
