New dell laptop, O.S Question

Quick question, just brought a laptop for my step mum, its a dell studio. Its come with vista and obviously the best thing is to do a fresh install to have a clean install.

Is there a disc provided with the laptop? If so should i use this disc for a fresh install or use a retail oem version?

Yes it should come with a Dell OS reinstallation CD and you should use this for your reinstall, unless you want a different OS.
