Will Dell be releasing an 08 range of monitors ?

Have they released details ?

There has been no offical word from dell, just rumours of new Dell screens based on TN panels supposedly 2408 series and beyond. Some people think they will jump to the '9' numering.

a lot suggest they will use TN since its just a lot cheaper... but its anyones guess as to if and when its out.

Dell have already released the 20" model, the SP2008WFP:

I would be very surprised if we don't see a 24" TN Film model from them as well at some point

in fact Dell have today announced in Japan a new 22" and 24" model:

24" E248WFP (translated). more info here as well.

and the 22" SP2208WFP (and translated from Dell Japan)

Definatly not helping with that exploding smiley !

I may just have to get my pc sorted and then wait on for the new DELLs to appear !

i don't like that one as much personally, it's in the same style as the E207WFP model (same "E" range of screens obviously). Bare in mind the new model is TN Film as well

I dont no much about monitors but whats "TN Based", I'm looking for a 24" Gaming screen for things like Company of Heroes, abit of CoD2 and CoD4 when its out, no reall fast FPS like UT ect so would this screen be good for me? Got a HDTV for all my HDMI needs. Maybe I'd be best off with the older 2407 or the 2407 HC?

TN based is someone referring to the panel technology being used in the model. See here, this should help:
