New Dell Studio XPS laptops :)

Any more details on the gfx card in it ? not familiar with the ATI Mobility RADEON® M86XT 512MB. I guess nvidia lost out this time due to their failing gpu`s.

Mentions Facial Recognition, so I can just look at the computer to login.

On the order site it mentions NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M G or NVIDIA® GeForce® 9500M - 256MB

Edit this is for the XPS 1340 not the 1640 (16" screen)

Looks like it's the ati HD 3670 512MB.

Notebookreview.com has a review of the 16", though I'm not sure if I can link due to competitor ads.
 
It is indeed the 3670 i am very dissapointed as dell have a 16" chassis and still only have the oprion for one drive.

Comparable to similair spec laptops though, the price will come down and it is easy to get a further 10-15% off Dell prices.

The standard spec for the top 16" model is pretty good all I would add is the high res screen and spec the 2.4ghz or 2.53ghz processor still a little pricey for £1300 needs to be around £950-1k which should be possible once its been out for a couple of months.
 
i was waiting for these to come out in november and they didnt so i got a DV5-1010 instead for £636 (P8400 2.26GHz, 9600MGT DDR2, 250GB HDD, 4GB ram). Speced up a similar system on the new dell studio xps, it came to just over £1000. needless to say I glad i didnt wait.

I was hoping these would look better than they do. They look sleek but i'm not sure its my cuppa tea.

Shame as i've been waiting for these to come. So expensive aswell
 
Yeah, I'm a bit dissapointed with the price.
The display on the 1640 should be lovely; unfortunately the machine looks a little too bulky for my liking.
