Hi, just brought myself a nice Belkin optical cable to plug into my brand new 790fx gigabyte board which has HD Dolby home theater sound.
my problem lies when I had my old setup using HD Analog sound using a stereo lead my dvd home cinema kit would have all these options like matrix mode music mode etc so I could change the sound to 5.1 while playing music. Now im using this optical lead its great for Mkv bluray films or any 5.1 sound film but now my dvd player has to be on digital in mode and no matrix is available so all my music only comes out of 2.1 speakers
I did see a Dolby surround II package for windows media player but this doesnt work at all im using windows 7 Rc7100 and motherboard supports windows 7 as its new so not sure if its just windows media player or what? plz help if there is any software that allows music to be converted from the pc as it plays, that would be great
