Hi

Im after some advise form you camera experts, I would like to buy my dad a new camera shortly as his current digital camera is old, so picture quality is a bit rubbish when you compare to later camera's and the control functions seem to be a bit screwed up.

I have a budget of £60-£70 which I know is not much but can hopefully get him a decent enough camera for the basic stuff.

Preferably it needs to have a fairly good optical zoom and controls easy enough to operate and small and light to fit in a pocket.

many thanks:)

Yeah that canon with the free memory card and case is a really good deal atm

The 165 has image stabilisation over the 160 model so well worth the extra £10 IMO.

The Sony Cyber-shot WX220 and Nikon Coolpix S5300 are both better cameras and take better pictures and were the same price as the canon when they came out but they cost £90 and £100.

Probably why the Canon has dropped so much in price as it can't compete with the others.

Still probably the best camera you are going to get for your budget though.
