New DirectX Update

To be honest i haven't installed them this is what members on guru are reporting

I'll avoid just incase , i don't and will never need BING

it would only install Bing if you didn't remove the tick from the installer (not too hard)...

however it offers nothing new, for me, as I had the June edition of Direct X installed.

I don't have a problem with freeware software doing this as it provides a revenue stream for them.

But Microsoft doing it for a component update is just overboard. Although other companies are doing it now too. AMD have a LOTRO icon and show up game ads during the Radeon drivers install which is plain ridiculous.

Wow, one check box is overboard? If you had no choice in the matter then I would agree.

Mountain. Molehill.

Pretty much anything I install wants to install some kind of toolbar.

You always get PCs owned by less PC literate people having google, bing, yahoo, ask jeeves and some more obscure toolbars or homepages installed.

Like I said I have no problem with normal freeware doing this. But including it with something that updates core Windows components is taking things too far. It's just a company trying as many ways as possible to get you to use its product

Equally AMD got their money with the sale of the graphics card. I don't see why they need to put adverts in my face when I update my drivers.

And yes I recently reinstalled my system which means I am more irritated than normal with programs offering you a Bing/Yahoo/Google/Ask toolbar :p

It attempts to install BING.

Antitrust
Burn Them
Shoot Them
Nuke Them

Oh for gods sake - get a ******* grip.

They are like viruses

Hook into explorer, flashing all the time in your browser, causing instability and slowdowns :o

People who have the Bing toolbar from this also probably have Zango, Freewebsearch and other bundled junk+spyware.

I deal with these idiots everyday who don't read what there installing.

Click, Click, Click, Click, Click ... "oh ffs what's this" ... "I never installed that" ... "I didn't want this" ...

Sums up most of my family, no matter how many times I tell them, they just don't listen. :(
